How to install BMW Scanner Windows 10
PA Soft aka BMW Scanner 1.4.0 was originally Windows XP only tool. There is now an updated Chinese version of the interface that works well and supports all Windows operating systems from XP to 10. However, there are some special measures you need to take to make the scanner work on Windows 10.
First, you will need to download the BMW Scanner 1.4 0 windows 10 software and drivers

- Run CMD as admin then paste this command “bcdedit /set testsigning on” then RESTART PC
- Open Device Manager and right click on BMW Scanner V14x then click “Update Driver”
- Click “Browse my computer for driver software” then click browse and look for the “BMW Scanner 1.4.0-Driver 64BIT” folder and ensure include subfolders is checked then press next.
- When a window in red pops up press “Install this driver software anyway”. After this, you will see if has successfully updated the drivers for BMW Scanner. Press close.
- Next, go back to Device Manager and you will notice a yellow mark next to “USB Serial Port” right click it and click “Update Driver”.
- Click “Browse my computer for driver software” then click “Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer”
- Click “Show All Devices” then press “Next” then press “Have Disk” then browse for the “BMW Scanner 1.4.0-Driver 64BIT” folder.
- Next, choose the file name “ftdibus” and press “Open” then press “OK”. Choose “BMW Scanner” from the top of the list and press “Next”
- Choose “Yes” on the Update Driver warning pop up. Finally, click “Install this driver software anyway” on the red pop up.
- You should now see “BMW Scanner” under “Ports(COM&LPT)”
- Run CMD as admin then paste this command “bcdedit /set testsigning off” then RESTART PC
******IMPORTANT****
Before starting the driver installation if you see “USB Serial Port” under Ports(COM&LPT)” right click and press “Uninstall Device” and
ensure “Delete the driver software for this device” is checked then press “Uninstall”
Then go under “Universal Serial Bus Controllers” at the bottom of the device manager and look for “USB Serial Converter” it may have a letter after it such as “USB Serial Converter A”
Right click and press “Uninstall Device” and
ensure “Delete the driver software for this device” is checked then press “Uninstall”
